My work is rooted in solid wood, an organic material carrying memory and time.
I am inspired by living forms: marine organisms, shells, cellular structures and archaic symbols.
The nudibranch series addresses the fragility of marine ecosystems and our relationship with the ocean. Other works explore identity, gender and contemporary tensions.
I do not aim to illustrate a concept.
I aim to create presence.
Sculpture becomes a space for questioning:
Where does the body begin?

Arnaud Schweitzer is a French sculptor based in Brittany.
Trained in fine woodworking and traditional Māori carving in New Zealand, he develops a practice combining ancestral craftsmanship with a contemporary sculptural language.
After collaborating on international film productions, he returned to a personal artistic practice focused on organic forms and the relationship between humans and the living world.
Now working from Atelier M9 in Pluneret, he creates monumental sculptures in solid wood.
His work has been visible at the Concept Store Gallery in La Baule since December 2025.
We study all proposals according to your desires. The completion time varies depending on the dimensions of the work. Several weeks are necessary, because the work is essentially done by hand.
